(I did intend to explain this more thoroughly - as it does to some extent later, but I think this should be addressed asap. You see the spell that broke magic is happening gradually - the snow and cold is a symptom of this. The broken nature of magic is radiating out like ripples in a pool. Soon, magic will be gone completely, so more haste, more speed for Hillary.)
